My husband, Travis, and I live a fairly active lifestyle. We travel quite a bit, for both fun and work, and are usually always on the go. That was until the Coronavirus set in. The first few weeks were a welcomed change of pace. We even willingly swapped out a planned trip to the Greek Islands for a backyard camping adventure in celebration of our first year wedding anniversary. It was nice to be able to spend some time together, at home, without constantly thinking about where to next.
But it didn’t take long for the fatigue of the familiar to set in. We were ready to get out and explore again.
Living in Virginia Beach, we have easy access to a variety of coastal towns, nature reserves and historic landmarks – all just a short distance away. We devised a plan to spend every weekend we could exploring new locations in a safe, socially distant manner, of course.
I’ll share some of the places we’ve seen and things we’ve done so far, but also will keep updating on the travel to come as well! We’re expecting our first baby in September and considering the way the world looks today, we foresee continuing on these road-accessible adventures during the times ahead.
Follow along with us on our adventures of travel, exploration of food and fashion, and the slightly-terrifying journey to parenthood.
